About Us

Shaped Within the Industries it Serves

Buckingham Pewter has developed alongside the industries and organisations it serves, manufacturing locally in Western Australia since 1982.

Manufacturing takes place in Perth using established in-house processes and locally sourced Australian materials.

Projects are carried out locally from design through to finished production, maintaining clear accountability at every stage.

Shaped around one decision — keep production close to the industries it serves.

That decision continues to influence how work is handled, delivered and supported today.

Foundations

Buckingham Pewter traces its origins to 1954, when Buckingham Pewter Co Ltd was established in Dorset, England.

By the 1970s, the work had made its way to Western Australia, where the foundations of a local manufacturing presence began to take shape.

In 1982, Buckingham Pewter established its manufacturing presence in Western Australia. Under the new leadership of Anne Bradford production began in a small suburban workshop, laying the groundwork for what would become a recognised manufacturing operation.

Industry Application

By the mid-1980s, the development of recognition belt buckles for crew and project teams marked a turning point in the business.

Created with industrial and mining environments in mind, these pieces were designed to reflect the scale of major projects and operational milestones.

With confirmed production dating to 1988, recognition belt buckles were introduced into mining and industrial settings, supporting safety achievements, production milestones, and project completions.

Over time, the work expanded into a broader manufacturing capability supported by consistent in-house production.

Continuing the Legacy

In 2016, Anne Bradford retired, transferring Buckingham Pewter to new ownership and ensuring the continuation of established processes and manufacturing knowledge.

Current ownership assumed responsibility in 2022, carrying the legacy forward while supporting new generations of organisations and industries.

Buckingham Pewter continues from that foundation, grounded in established methods, local production, and skilled manufacturing practices.

Mission

To support industries and organisations with recognition that reflects real work, produced with consistency, accountability and long-term reliability.

Values

Our values reflect our working standards. They guide how decisions are made, work is handled and responsibility is maintained across every stage of production.

Accountability

Work remains visible and traceable from early stages through to delivery, with responsibility retained throughout the process.

Consistency

Established methods support repeatable quality across individual pieces and full production runs.

Control

Key stages are managed in-house to maintain oversight, timing and production reliability.

Responsiveness

Changes and adjustments can be handled directly, without reliance on distant supply chains.

Quality

Output is measured by accuracy, finish, and durability, not appearance alone.

Community

We believe businesses should strengthen and contribute to the communities that support them.

Communities are built by the people, organisations, trades and industries that make businesses like ours possible.

Whether that's supporting local organisations, recognising military and emergency services, championing Australian manufacturing, working with Australian suppliers, or simply helping where we can, we believe being part of our community means helping leave it stronger than we found it.

Acountability

Responsibility does not shift between unknown stages.

Work remains visible from concept through to delivery, supported by direct oversight and accountable hands.

Sustainability

We don't claim to have all the answers to sustainability. We simply believe it begins with respect—respect for our craft, our community, our planet, and the generations that follow.

That belief guides the way we manufacture, the suppliers we choose, and our preference for creating recognition intended to be kept, repaired and treasured rather than discarded. We manufacture in Australia, support Australian suppliers wherever able, minimise waste where practical, repair before replacing where feasible, and choose materials and methods that reflect the long-term nature of the recognition we create.

Sustainability isn't a claim we make. It's a responsibility we try to honour through the decisions we make every day.
